Dark secrets of the past that change the present

When young programmer David Lund receives an email from an unknown woman claiming to have information about his childhood, he doesn't know how to react. He would prefer to ignore the news and instead sort out his feelings for the handsome lawyer Florence. David, however, has no memory of the first 12 years of his life, and his only glimpses of memories are of strange, terrifying dreams. And so curiosity eventually wins out and he replies to the email. But the woman who contacted him suddenly disappears without a trace and David becomes the prime suspect, as he is the last person to speak to her. At the same time, it becomes clear that someone is after David and that everyone he cares about is also in danger. With Florence's help, David must find out who is behind all this and how it relates to his own missing memories. There are decades-old secrets lurking in the dark shadows, as well as players who could lose everything they've gained in life if the truth comes out.
The Sacrifice is the first part of a series about David Lund and Florence Tapper. In this intense psychological thriller, the mystery unravels in two timelines, the present and David's past. Shards of memories begin to piece together a picture of reality that is far more terrifying than you expected.
