Village in the Borderland - DVD

Shortly after the Second World War, many people came to the Czech borderlands to settle the abandoned homesteads. Among them is the family of Pavlas, a Prague greengrocer. The first settler to take over the sawmill is viciously murdered by an unknown man who takes possession of his papers and goes under his name. Pavlas is elected president of the local government. By his actions, he arouses the resentment of some of the new villagers, who would rather see the manager of the sawmill in charge. Grandfather Pavlas, however, leads the gendarmes on the trail of German smugglers.
