Violin and Dream - DVD

This biographical film about the prematurely deceased violin virtuoso Josef Slavik unfolds like an oppressive dream, in the mind of an artist tormented by fever. He recalls how his playing impressed Paganini himself.

The director Václav Krška also gave the narrative a lyrical background, trying to reach a parable about the artist's thorny journey to recognition, but he did not overcome the theatricality of the overall concept, especially the overexposed acting.
