The story of an inconspicuous bookseller and a purveyor of thieves' tools
During the reign of Emperor Rudolf II, many interesting and peculiar people resided in Prague. The Emperor supported the esoteric sciences and delighted in alchemy. Although Christianity ruled with a firm and ruthless hand, there were still those, especially in the countryside, who believed in the old Slavic gods or supernatural beings.
One of these peculiar people was Jan Ondřej of Čechodol, an inconspicuous bookseller, but also a magician, an alchemist, a purveyor of thieves' tools...
He has a peculiar ability to find himself, often through no fault of his own, in a whirlwind of events that could change the fates of people, beings from other worlds, or even entire countries.
