We were young and brave

The children at the boarding school in Chu-fu were eagerly looking forward to Christmas as they do every year. Most of them went to visit their parents, who worked as diplomats and missionaries all over China. However, it was 1941 and because of the uncertain situation some of them could not leave. Teachers filled their free time with sports, competitions and earning scout badges.

And then war entered the school in the form of Japanese soldiers. The teachers and their children had to make a long march on foot to the internment camp, where cruelty and severe punishment reigned. How are they supposed to replace the parents of over 100 children? How to keep them alive and healthy when they don't have enough food, clothing or medicine?
