This text is a study aid for subjects that use the R programming language for teaching (statistics, methods for evaluating experimental data). It explains the basics of working in the programme and describes its important data structures (vectors, matrices, datasets, lists). However, it also deals with programming in the R language. It does not apply the R programme in ordinary statistics, but uses the acquired knowledge to programme basic methods of numerical mathematics, such as numerical differentiation and integration, solving equations of the type f(x) = 0, and solving first-order ordinary differential equations often used in the natural sciences. These methods are programmed in the R language, and then functions from the R library that solve the task are presented. The final chapters deal with linear and non-linear regression in the R programme. The explanation is supplemented by a number of solved examples that practically illustrate the subject matter. Worth mentioning are the examples from the field of regression methods, where the reader will become familiar with the statistical evaluation of basic regression tasks.
