We're not here for fun
Aging divorced writer Knut has never followed up on the spectacular success of the novel he wrote twenty years ago. In his last literary attempt, he tried to address critical comments from reviewers that he was writing exclusively about members of the privileged white middle class, but his editor rejected the text as unusable and the book was never published.
Now Knut receives an invitation to Norway' s largest literary festival in Lillehammer, where he is to participate in a panel discussion entitled " Infidelity in Life and Literature. " As a mere substitute for someone who canceled at the last minute, but whatever. He takes his only friend, the homosexual Frank, with him on the trip, and intends to make the most of his stay in Lillehammer. After all, it' s a surefire way for him to return to the spotlight. And although the debate goes a bit awry, it gives Knut a chance to start over.
In this book, Nina Lykke takes a dig at the environment in which anything is allowed - as long as you stick to the unwritten rules. We' re not here for fun either.
