Werich Jan: Poklady z archivu - CD

Supraphon regularly releases archive recordings with Jan Werich, he already has a nice collection. Now the creators of the collection have once again dived into the depths of the archives and presented to the public records that are worth remembering.

Many of them are from anonymous, undated sources, some are, on the contrary, very precisely marked, but as a whole they again draw attention to such a wonderful and above-average personality as Jan Werichy was.

Werich' s speech for the 1968 exhibition Millennium Judaicum Bohemicum from the archives of Jindřich Kučera dominates among the recordings, a few well-known recordings from the archives of Ondřej Suchý . The bonus is reminiscent of Jan Werich' s alter ego in an English speech by Jiří Voskovec, with which he responded to Werich' s speech on the millennium of Judaism in Bohemia. The thin line between tragic and comic, the elegance of the spirit and the still current content is inherent in both intellectual species and permanently fascinating.

Surprising discoveries from the sound library of the great comedian, satirist and singer Jan Werich!
