When the Cat Comes - DVD

Jan Werich and Vlastimil Brodský in a magical fairy tale about what was and what was not, but especially about what should be.
The now legendary Czech film When the Cat Comes Home, directed by Vojtěch Jasný in 1963 and starring Jan Werich in an inimitable way, is a modern fairy tale for adults. It takes place in a small town that seems to be from a fairy tale realm. A magician arrives with a beautiful girl Diana and a magical cat. The cat has glasses on his eyes, and when someone takes them off, the people under his gaze become coloured according to their characters and deeds. Liars and Pharisees turn purple, thieves turn grey, harlots and unbelievers turn yellow - and lovers turn red like poppies. It's clear that only the latter like the cat. And of course - children.
