Who sews at Podolska?

The fate of the famous salon in the 1950s

The Podolská Salon used to be associated with elegance and luxury in the times of its greatest glory. After the nationalization in 1948, thanks to the patronage of Martha Gottwald, the former owner was able to remain employed in a menial position. We can trace the fate of the people associated with the salon back to a time when the models of the Paris shows were replaced by red scarves and the ruffled sleeves of the punch lines. Elegance was disappearing from the streets, but what was much worse was that freedom was also disappearing and people were literally disappearing.
