Why I am not a communist I.
In 1924, Ferdinand Peroutka opened a poll in the magazine Přítomnost, Why Am I Not a Communist? Contributions to it were written by leading Czech writers and intellectuals - Karel and Josef Čapek, Jan Herben, Frantisek Langer, Josef Kopta, Fráňa Šrámek, Ladislav P. Procházka, Jaroslav Kallab, Richard Weiner, Jaroslav Kříženecký and Ferdinand Peroutka. Czech communists, writers Josef Hora, Ivan Olbracht and Stanislav Kostka Neumann, also responded to the poll. For our audiobook, we made a selection of half of these contributors in a poll, including communist opponents in Red Law and Reflektor magazine.
