Mum's marriage is in crisis, the children have gone completely feral, and the house looks like a bomb has hit it. Only the dog remains her ever-faithful companion.
As if that wasn't enough, Mum has found a new challenge in life – a job at a brand-new start-up full of young, promising people. This brings, among other things, the worry of whether, at forty-two, she can get up from a beanbag with the required dignity, and if she can get away with wearing trousers that resemble jogging bottoms to work. In this new environment, she has also somehow (accidentally) introduced herself as a single party queen who doesn't have to rush home to her children, and now she has no idea how to get out of it without making a complete fool of herself…
Can Mum maintain the illusion of independence at work while keeping her family running? And will she still find time for the occasional gin and tonic?
