William Shakespeare: Othello (1950)

Othello is clearly one of Shakespeare's supreme tragedies and not only because of this it has a very long and rich tradition of production in Bohemia. The very first record of Othello being performed in Bohemia dates from 1842, when a production translated by Jakub Malý was premiered at the Estates Theatre. Since then, this tragedy has appeared on Czech stages countless times. Radio recording from 1950.
