Tilda and Ida #2 22 POOLS KEPT TILDA AFLOAT. HOW WILL HER YOUNGER SISTER IDA COPE WITH LIFE? When she leaves home, Ida has nothing but her mother's old, battered suitcase, a few favourite items of clothing, and a laptop. She is saying goodbye, probably forever, to the small town where she has spent her entire life so far. But Ida is really bad at goodbyes—two months ago, she didn't even make it to her mother's funeral. At the station, she picks a train that's going as far as possible and travels all the way to Rügen. There, full of anger, grief, and guilt, she wanders aimlessly until she stumbles upon the pub owner Knut and his wife, Marianne. The old couple take the girl in and give her some much-needed space. And then Ida meets Leif, who has his own demons but seems able to tame hers. But her mother's death isn't the last blow to strike Ida. Will she manage to find the will to live, mend the relationship with her beloved older sister, and stand on her own two feet? CAROLINE WAHL Caroline Wahl (born 1995) studied German literature and subsequently worked for various publishing houses.
