Wisdom Incarnate
Moshé Feldenkrais was able to express his basic ideas in a small space in a very clear and understandable way. And yet Feldenkrais' articles and interviews were not widely available until recently. That is why the editor Elizabeth Beringer decided to collect all the author's texts of this type from 1964-1981. Individual texts are supplemented by explanations of the context and photographic documents.
The book summarizes the basic ideas of the Feldenkrais method, for example the emphasis on the adaptability of the organism as a manifestation of health. By consciously focusing on our movement patterns, we also improve our mental functioning. The publication also links Feldenkrais' method with other interesting contexts (e.g. the relationship of hearing and spatial orientation, martial arts, the role of the forebrain, acting) and shows that the author had a sophisticated philosophical view of life and was also in contact with important personalities of his time. Some of the texts contain specific suggestions for exercises or are based on the experience of a seminar that Feldenkrais conducted.
