Women Behind Bars

Some embezzled money.

Some stole.

Some participated in robberies.

Some murdered.

And some killed their children.

Women who committed crimes.

And now they are paying for them in the high-security women's prison in Světlá nad Sázavou.

Writer Petr Šámal goes to meet them to open a window for the reader into the female soul, sometimes tormented, other times uncomprehending.

And these women, who need someone to listen to them, surprisingly candidly shed light on the circumstances that surrounded them so frighteningly before the turning point in their lives that they found no other way out than to commit a crime.
