Women on the Run - DVD

Věra (Zlata Adamovská) had a wonderful life with Jindřich and is determined to fulfil his last wish – to run a marathon!
As an emancipated and energetic mother of three daughters, she sees no problem. She'll just split the route into four parts, and they'll conquer the 42-plus kilometres as a family relay. None of them has ever run a single metre, but there are still three months until the start, and their coach, Vojta (Vladimír Polívka), has prepared a brilliant fitness plan. They just need to begin.

However, the daughters are not exactly eager to start running. They have completely different worries. The eldest, Marcela (Tereza Kostková), deals with the daily antics of her three sons, and their father, Karel (Ondřej Vetchý), hasn't managed to, or perhaps hasn't wanted to, propose to her in twenty years. The middle daughter, Bára (Veronika Khek Kubařová), longs for a child, but she hasn't found the right father for one yet. Her biological clock is ticking loudly. And the youngest, Kačka (Jenovéfa Boková), does have a man, but that man has one major catch – a wife. Despite this, the lovestruck Kačka clings to a relationship with no future.
It's clear the daughters have completely different priorities than marathon training right now. Their quirky mum, Věra, must therefore muster all her strength to get the family relay through a series of obstacles and comedic complications to the starting line of Jindřich's dream marathon. Running is just like life. The important thing is to persevere and not give up when the finish line is within reach.
