When a group of X-Men set out on a fairly routine rescue mission in orbit to the endangered shuttle crew, they seem to have everything under control and the operation is going well. But appearances are deceptive. Jean Gray ( Sophie Turner ) is hit by an unknown and deadly cosmic force that turns her into one of the most powerful mutants.
Even with the support of other X-Men, Jean struggles not only with his newly charged and unstable power, but also with his personal demons. He gradually gets into a scary spiral and loses control of himself.
Jean Gray changes into Dark Phoenix and becomes a threat not only to his now former mutant friends, but to the entire planet. X-Meni must face his nearest and most destructive enemy - one of them.
