Ondřej from Rohatec decides to quit after several years as a mercenary.
Since he did not get rich doing it, he considers such a life unreasonably dangerous. He returns from Italy, where he took part in the campaign of King Charles of Luxembourg and where he gained his knighthood but lost his friend. And he is also curious about the gift that awaits him in Bohemia. It is a small castle, but rather a castle in the Křivoklát region.
That he will finally find peace, however, is an illusion. Perhaps in the army, when he knew exactly where he stood and where the enemy stood, it was safer after all...
