The wild ride of Nick Twisp and his family continues—hold on to your hats, it's all downhill from here!
It's been almost a year since we said goodbye to the members of the wild and ever-expanding Twisp clan. You're surely pondering a number of questions, such as: Did Nick Sr. make it big with the film about his youth, and is he now receiving standing ovations at snobbish festivals? Is his son, Nick II, the main star of the aforementioned masterpiece, attending one of the educational institutions for the Los Angeles elite, where he is the centre of attention for the local spoiled youth? Has his one true love, Cal, finally succumbed to his charms, and are they now a happy couple of cooing lovebirds?
The surprising answer to all three questions is: no. The patriarch of the family is considering reviving his juggling career (he has to pay the rent somehow), and young Nick is earning extra money by mucking out elephant dung (thankfully, from a rather tiny elephant). His love life isn't developing too well either. Cal refused to spend the night of passion she had promised him and traded him for the cringey heartthrob, Fabian. On the other hand, the charming Almy, Trent Preston's granddaughter, appears in town. Could this be a sign of better times ahead? But in the life of the Twisps, nothing is ever simple, and their past has yet to reveal all its secrets…
This ninth instalment of the acclaimed Twisp saga will astound you with its abundance of surprising predicaments and witty twists, bringing most of the beloved characters from the previous novels back to the stage.
