- Selen (Se) has a number of irreplaceable functions in the human body. It contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress by being essential for the function of enzymes that break down hydrogen peroxide and fatty acid peroxides. It contributes to the normal function of the immune system and thyroid gland, to the maintenance of normal hair and nails and contributes to normal spermatogenesis.
- Vitamin E as a primary antioxidant contributes to the protection of cells against oxidative stress (protects fatty acids of cell membranes against oxidation).
