Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC
The Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC is the second generation of the air cooler based on the design of the iconic NH-D15 model. Thanks to its modified asymmetrical heatsinks, eight heat pipes, and advanced NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, it achieves higher cooling efficiency even under heavy thermal loads. The Low Base Convexity (LBC) variant is optimised for the flatter surfaces of processors, particularly AMD AM5, and provides a better contact interface without needing an offset mount. Single-fan operation provides enough clearance even for memory modules with taller heatsinks.

Improved cooler design
The optimised fin spacing and a 20% increase in their total surface area make effective use of the pressure and airflow characteristics of the NF-A14x25r G2 fans. Modifying the front heatsink by 5mm balances the load between both fans, while a smaller gap between the heatsinks helps to increase performance while maintaining a more compact depth compared to the original generation.
Compatibility and operating characteristics
The asymmetrical design shifts the cooler towards the top edge of the motherboard, meaning it does not block the top PCIe ×16 slot in most configurations. The selected LBC variant ensures optimal contact on flat processors, and when combined with the supplied spacers on LGA1700 platforms, it can reduce processor deformation and achieve better heat transfer.
Advanced mounting and operating solutions
The SecuFirm2+™ system, using Torx connections, offers a firm and precise installation across all supported sockets. The fans, with a slight difference in speed, minimise acoustic resonances in a push-pull configuration, support a wide range of PWM control, and enable completely passive operation at 0% PWM. The package also includes NT-H2 thermal paste and the NA-TPG1 accessory, which prevents excess paste from getting into the edges of AMD AM5 processor heat spreaders.
