A massive liana-like woody plant, climbing up the trunks of surrounding trees. In his quest for the sun, he uses sharp thorns to catch his surroundings. Hence the name Uña de gato, meaning cat's claw. Also known as Vilkakora. It is considered sacred by the indigenous people of the Amazon, its use in indigenous ethnomedicine has been known for many generations.
