Pentax KP is paired a new generation of APS-C CMOS sensor with a PRIME IV image processor. This significantly increased the upper range of sensitivity without generating any noise. With maximum ISO sensitivity of 819,200 (standard output sensitivity) and 14-bit data processing, it shoots images with rich gradation, reproduces remarkable texture of the subject, and delivers photos to life with even great and detailed sensitivity. The high resolution supports the design of the sensor without an optical AA filter. However, if you need to suppress moiré and fake colors, you can simulate it with a vibration reduction mechanism.

Even more data extraction from the sensor

Impressive Pixel technology can capture four images of the same scene using a stabilizer by shifting the image sensor with a single pixel for each image, then saving them all into a single perfect shot. Given that the data of all colors obtained in each pixel, the composite image looks much more realistic than what you can get by common photographic techniques. Reproduced colors are more apt, without false shades.

Built-in support

The PENTAX KP is equipped with an innovative 5-axis SR II (Shake Reduction II) sensor shift. In addition to normal vibration, this mechanism also compensates for horizontal and vertical displacements. Thanks to a broad compensation range of up to five shutter speeds, the stabilizer benefits from a wide range of programs, such as telephoto or for shooting in poorly illuminated locations. Always capture crisp images without any blur.
