Active ingredients in ALAVIS™ Traumagel: Celadrin®, Menthol.
- Celadrin® is a patent-protected substance that systematically strengthens and moisturizes cell membranes, providing cells with youthful suppleness and elasticity. Its composition combines two substances having similar effects. One of them is a derivative of cetyl. Cetyl compounds have been used for many years by the pharmaceutical industry as detoxifying, disinfecting and, in their effects, anti-inflammatory agents. The second component is a mixture of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, particularly myristic, myristoleic and palmitic acids. This balanced composition is not only useful in that it aids the transport of poorly water-soluble cetyl compounds, but as recent research shows, these ingredients have their own protective and physiological effects. They inhibit 5-lipooxygenase, an enzyme that promotes oxidative and inflammatory processes. Inflammation is the source not only of pain, but also of free radicals that aggravate the condition. Thus, we can summarize that the components of the patent-protected Celadrin are natural antioxidants, help against inflammation and specifically block the activity of the unwanted enzyme.
- Menthol is a substance contained in peppermint, it has a mild local anaesthetic effect and helps blood flow to the tissues, which is important in inflammation and pain.
