CIANO Aquarium Foam "M" Black

The CIANO Foam "M" replacement mechanical filter insert is designed for CIANO CF80 and CFSTONE 40 internal aquarium filters. This foam sponge keeps the water in your freshwater aquarium clean. It traps both coarse and fine dirt, while also serving as a surface for beneficial nitrifying bacteria to colonise. To maintain optimal filtration efficiency, the manufacturer recommends replacing the cartridge approximately every 90 days.

Mechanical and biological filtration

The CIANO Foam "M" filter foam works on two levels. Its structure effectively traps visible particles, such as leftover food or plant debris, keeping the water mechanically clean. At the same time, its surface offers the ideal space for beneficial bacteria to colonise. These nitrifying bacteria contribute to the biological balance in the aquarium by breaking down harmful nitrogen compounds. Regular replacement every 90 days promotes stable filtration performance.
