Berberine HCL (berberine hydrochloride) is a naturally occurring form of the alkaloid berberine, extracted from the root of the common barberry. Common barberry is used in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine. Common barberry (Berberis vulgaris) supports normal digestion and liver function, and also helps to maintain normal blood glucose levels.
