Pharmatex 12mg/g vaginal cream
- Pharmatex vaginal cream is a topical contraceptive designed to protect against conception. It reduces the likelihood of pregnancy, but does not provide 100% protection.
- It is spermicidal - it interferes with the fertilizing ability of sperm. The active substance after introduction into the vagina damages the spermatic membrane. The process takes place in two phases: first the flagellum is destroyed and then the head bursts. The contraceptive effect occurs immediately.
- Pharmatex does not contain hormones and does not affect the menstrual cycle, libido or future fertility. It is intended for vaginal use.
For whom is PHARMATEX intended
This method of contraception is suitable for all women who need contraception, especially
in the following cases:
- If a woman is temporarily or permanently prevented from using hormonal contraception or an IUD.
- Contraceptive method in the period after childbirth or miscarriage and in the period before menopause (i.e. before the cessation of regular menstrual bleeding in menopausal women).
- Occasional contraception if you have forgotten to take your contraceptive pill or took it late. In this case, read the package leaflet of your oral contraceptive again and you must use both contraceptive methods until the end of the menstrual cycle.
- Use in combination with a pessary, cervical ring or IUD (especially in women who have been taking certain medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for a long time).
How to use PHARMATEX correctly
Apply the cream deep into the vagina using the applicator. The application is easier if the woman adopts a lying position. Protection is immediate and lasts at least 10 hours. For PHARMATEX to work properly:
- Do not use soap 2 hours before and 2 hours after intercourse
- A new dose must be used before each intercourse
- Do not combine with other vaginal treatments
- Do not perform vaginal lavage 2 hours after intercourse
Further information
Pharmatex does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. The product does not disturb the natural vaginal environment, the beneficial bacteria are preserved.
The effectiveness of the product depends on correct adherence to the instructions for use.
Composition:
Active ingredient: benzalkonium chloridum, anhydrous citric acid, macrogol-palmitostearate, lavender essential oil, sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, purified water. 72 g tube with applicator.
Pharmatex vaginal cream is a medicinal product for vaginal use. Contains benzalkonium chloride. Read the package insert carefully before using the product.
