Prima Home Multidrug test 1 pc

The Prima Home Multidrug Test can detect 6 narcotics in urine, and it's morphine, cocaine, marijuana, amphetamine, methamphetamine and methadone Je designed for home use, but can also be used by healthcare professionals. It uses monoclonal antibodies to selectively detect elevated levels of specific drugs in the urine. The test indicates a preliminary analytical result. During testing, the urine sample rises upwards due to capillary forces. If a drug is present in a urine sample below the threshold, it will not saturate the binding sites with its specific antibody. The antibody thus reacts with the drug-protein conjugate and a visible coloured line is formed on the test strip in the drug-specific area to be tested. When the drug concentration is above the threshold value, it saturates all antibody binding sites and does not form a coloured line in the test area. You will know the result of the Prima Home test within 5 minutes.

How does the multidrug test work?

This test is a rapid screening test from a urine sample that can be performed without the use of a machine. The test uses monoclonal antibodies to selectively detect elevated levels of specific drugs in the urine. Due to the speed and sensitivity of immunochemical methods, these methods are currently the main way of detecting drug use. During testing, the urine sample rises upwards due to capillary forces. If the drug is present in the urine sample below the threshold, it will not saturate the binding sites of its specific antibody. The antibody then reacts with the drug-protein conjugate to produce a visible coloured line on the test strip in the drug-specific area to be tested. When the drug concentration is above the threshold, it saturates all the binding sites with antibodies. Therefore, no colour line is formed in the test area. A drug-positive urine sample will not produce a coloured line on the test strip for that drug because there is drug competition, whereas a drug-negative urine sample will produce a line in the test area because there is no drug competition. As a progress check, a coloured line always appears in the control area, indicating that the correct volume of sample has been added and the membrane has been connected.

How accurate is the multidrug test?

The presence of drugs in urine and the detection levels are expressed in the following table:
Amphetamine (AMP1000)- cutoff value (ng/mL) 1000 - urinary residence time 4 to 24 hours
Cocaine (COC 300) - cutoff value (ng/mL) 300 - urinary residence time 24 to 48 hours
Marijuana - cutoff value (ng/mL) 50 - 3 to 10 days in urine
Methadone (MTD300) - cutoff value (ng/mL) 300 - urinary residence time 3 to 5 days
Methamphetamine (MET 500) - cutoff value (ng/mL) 500 - urinary residence time 2 to 4 days
Morphine (MOP 300) - cutoff value (ng/mL) 300 - duration of presence in urine 3 to 5 days

When can a multidrug test be used?

1) The multidrug test provides only a qualitative, preliminary analytical result.
2) Technical or procedural errors as well as interfering substances in the urine sample may cause erroneous results.
3) A positive result does not indicate a level or intoxication or concentration in the urine.
4) A negative result does not necessarily mean drug-free urine. A negative result may also be obtained if the drug is present but below the detection limit of the test.
5) This test cannot differentiate between drug use and certain medications.
