Vinyl boards require specific maintenance. Cleaning with a dry brush before playing the disc is recommended to remove coarse dust particles. However, to really clean the grooves effectively, you need to clean the board with a wet process. The Pro-Ject VC-E2 electric LP record washer serves this purpose. The VC-E2 with innovative cabinet design enables very efficient cleaning of vinyl records. The advantage is the aluminium outer surface, which is better able to resist cleaning fluid leaks. This extremely powerful wet scrubber reliably removes dust and dirt and cleans the grooves in 1 to maximum 2 rotations (one forward and one backward rotation is best). If you apply multiple rotations, you may end up reapplying additional (just cleaned) dirt into the grooves. The drive motor has a speed of 30 revolutions per minute, which is much higher than what other comparably priced washing machines offer. The result is a significantly more efficient and faster cleaning process.

Magnetic clampprotects the record label from cleaning fluid, preventing moisture from damaging it while still firmly securing the record in the correct position. The robust metal arm is easy to use, mechanically stable and concentrates all suction force directly on the recording surface. The 0.5 l internal container for collecting the liquid suction is easy and simple to empty. When using the original cleaning fluid, the trapped solution soon evaporates spontaneously and the container does not need to be emptied during normal operation, or only very rarely. The environmentally friendly and non-alcoholic cleaning fluid WASH IT2, guarantees excellent cleaning results, reduces static charge and thus significantly reduces the wear of the grooves and the tip of the transmission. A suitable cleaning fluid is required for best cleaning results. However, alcohol-based liquids can destroy the musical micro-information in the recording, which is why it is recommended to use an eco-friendly non-alcoholic cleaning liquid offered under the label "Wash it 2". Wash it 2 is a pre-mixed solution, so there is no need to dilute the liquid before cleaning. This not only saves time, but also eliminates the risk of using unsuitable tap water for mixing.
