Ano, griluje se přímo na desce, desku položíte na rošt grilu nebo i přímo na varnou desku a grilujete přímo na ní. Po použití se spíše čistí oškrábáním a následně jen otřít vlhkým hadrem. Přímo pod vodou (nebo dokonce v myčce) se deska nečistí. Jedná se o kamennou sůl, vlhkost (ale i samotné grilování na ní) jí časem "obrousí", na kolik přesně použití ale deska není nijak změřené. Každé maso může "sát" sůl jinak.
