Tester kabelů W-Star WSNF300 není určený pro přímé připojení k PoE (Power over Ethernet) switchům, protože nemá ochranu proti vyšším napětím, která PoE poskytuje. Tento tester je navržen pro testování kabelů a detekci chyb, ale nemá specifikovanou ochranu proti napětí, které by mohlo poškodit jeho elektroniku.
