While I recommend the book because it might be suitable for some people, it didn't give me much as I know everything. Anyway, good relaxation - good to read.
I know almost everything it says (from life), so I didn't need to read the book. I can resist manipulation. Sometimes there are logical errors and it always annoyed me when I came across one. I miss a deeper understanding there - what is not manipulation and what is already, because talking to achieve our goal is ok, but oppressing others is not ok (that is manipulation) and I wonder where the line is. Since just the fact that I'm talking at someone who doesn't really care (e.g. teacher on children at school), can be manipulation (oppression) and I can speak correctly. And furthermore, I miss the cause of manipulation in the book (e.g. a person is forced to go to a job that he does not enjoy, and so behaves inappropriately - he only covertly uses others for his own interests instead of really befriending them) - wouldn't it be better to address the cause of such behavior (i.e. slavery) and not learn to resist the consequences (manipulation)? It is certainly good to be able to resist manipulation if we also address the causes of why manipulation occurs. And going to work just to make money is manipulation in my opinion, so it is not surprising that most examples of manipulation come from the work environment. Anyway, the book is good for someone who likes going to work and enjoys it and meets a colleague who goes there under duress and manipulates. Since he can't deal with his life (or the fact that the system is wrong and so these situations arise), he can at least learn defense, and from that perspective I think this book is good.
