I originally considered the NS2 Pro Controller, but when I found out that my year and a half old 8BitDo controllers just need to be updated, and are NS2 compatible, I just bought another (black) 8BitDo Pro2. Compared to the 8BitDo Pro3 I like the removable battery, I don't need the extra buttons.
The driver works well with NS2 and Windows, the connection is reliable and fast, seamless on the fly. I also use it with my custom retro console Batocera (linux).
The setup software is nice, with a variety of options, unfortunately it sometimes (rarely) crashes when writing the configuration to the driver. SW is only for customization (buttons, macros, dead zones. ), the driver does not need any additional software to function.
The biggest drawback is the lack of battery status/charging progress indication on the driver itself and in the WinPC environment. Both Batocera and NS2 show the battery status - at least in the system. Charging is indicated on the controller only by a glowing indicator light, which goes out after charging.
It's not enough for a star down, but it's annoying.
