The following is not a defect of the device, just a warning for those making a selection. some older TVs probably can't handle HDMI input and need a SET TOP Box with SCART interface. I was buying two devices neither of which we ran on our LG TV via HDMI, but the other device also had SCART and that ran fine afterwards.
