I was buying as a proven brand. I was surprised by the very fluctuating quality. I've bought elsewhere before and it was great. Recent purchases (not only in Alza) - there are a considerable amount of too large pieces of bark and undecomposed organic residues in the substrate (for lawn use)
As a lawn substrate when establishing a lawn OK
When topdressing, depending on the batch, count on a waste of around 10% (by volume)
