A few days after purchase: I found that organizing cables can even be fun! I can't yet evaluate how reliably it holds the cable bundle, which is loaded by regular movement, but so far it looks OK. I will probably use it for other things than just cables in time. Some complain about the visible branding - it can be circumvented by using the tape the other way around (the 'hairy' side on the face), maybe it's even a thoughtful way of using it (the 'hack' side can't scratch anything, and only when the black is really black, the hack side has a grayish tint for the transparency of the plastic). For perfectionists it is probably ideal to equip with a set of black and white versions according to the cables/background. After all - 1 m would be really little, one wonders what everything needs to be tied at once: -)
