The disk is kaput after 5 months, apparently the controller is gone, BIOS doesn't see it at all. A lot of people here have had similar experiences. Pay extra and avoid Apacer. The Kingstns and Samsungs are all holding me up so far.

Apacer is a lousy manufacturer in my opinion

Unfortunately I ordered because I thought my girlfriend's ssd had gone, so we'll replace it. But it was just a Windows update that needed to be reverted. And I already put it in.
So, people, be sure to diagnose the cause carefully and don't be like me. But whatever, at least we have more room.

Gen 3 SSD, which is not the latest standard, but in tests it reaches 3000MB/s in both directions. In reality, it's faster than they say. The write life (TBW) is sufficient on paper. For a regular PC, it will last a long time and be fast enough.
