I’ve had the same filter jug for nearly 15 years. The day counter was mechanical and, due to its age, had become almost immobile. I was a bit surprised by that little valve in the filter’s drain. That wasn’t in the old kettle. At first, I thought it was just a protective plug. The thing is, I didn’t manage to push the filter all the way in the first time, and I thought it was the valve getting in the way, so I tried to pull it out. Fortunately, I didn’t manage to do it, and the second time round I fitted the filter as I should have done. I hope that little valve doesn’t get blocked over time. But that won’t matter; hopefully I’ll be able to remove it later: -)
