Perfect as a portrait lens. For this price, you get a lens with an excellent f/1.8 aperture that beautifully blurs the background and can handle shooting in the evening or indoors. It is compact and lightweight, so the camera remains easy to carry. It focuses relatively quickly, but the motor is audible during focusing, which might be an issue mainly when shooting video. It doesn't have stabilisation, so on camera bodies without in-body stabilisation, you need to keep an eye on the shutter speed.

I am very pleased with the Canon RF 50mm 1.8 STM lens. It is lightweight, compact and perfect for portrait photography. A big advantage is the f/1.8 aperture, which allows you to achieve a beautiful blurred background and shoot even in low light conditions. I also appreciate the nice sharpness of the images and how easy it is to shoot with. For its price, it offers great value for money. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to take their photos to the next level.

The Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens offers excellent value for money. Thanks to its wide aperture and great f/1.8 speed, it makes it possible to achieve a beautifully blurred background as well as high-quality shots in low light. The sharpness of the images itself is of a very high standard, and the relatively short minimum focusing distance is also a pleasant surprise. A big plus is its compact, lightweight design and versatility – it can also be used on bodies with an APS-C sensor without any problems. The only minor drawback is the slightly noisier focusing mechanism, which, however, is not particularly distracting and does not spoil the overall impression.

It's a great shame that other brands, like the Sigma Art 50 or the L-series equivalents, don't have such a short minimum focus distance. That's what makes this an incredibly versatile lens. The others usually have 40cm or 45cm or even 50cm, and that's just too much.
Small, lightweight, portable
The AF keeps up brilliantly during action shots
Absolutely unbeatable minimum focus distance - 30cm!
For the price, there's nothing to fault

Great image quality, high brightness, suitable for full frame portraits. Nice bokeh. Also suitable for video, high-quality recording even in 4K. In addition, the lens is small and light.
It allows you to take photos and videos in low light with great results.
Those who are used to zoom lenses will initially be bothered by the fixed focal length and the need to zoom " with your feet". Attention - this is not a negative, but a feature.

An "adult" RF lens that you can have for a ridiculously low price. If you have a full-frame body, enough light, and the ability to shoot around f/4, you can get a lot of music out of it cheaply. If you don't have enough light, you'll quickly start to miss stabilisation and deteriorating optical quality at open apertures - above f/2.5 it's almost worthless. On an APS-C body it gives a strange and impractical (for a cheap non-specialised lens) equivalent focal length of 80mm.
Nice and sharp from f/4 onwards
Very cheap
It has no stabilisation
