I bought these pliers so I could use them to modify plastic things from 3D printing. Cut off a protrusion, etc. When, after cutting a few filaments, my jaw broke for the second time on a 3mm thick piece of PLA filament without exerting any more force, the manufacturer wrote to me that the pliers were not being used as intended because they were only designed to cut parts out of the moulding and "The structural strength of the pliers is not designed to cut materials other than styrene polymer, which puts up very little resistance and is essentially sheared".
