E21 - a display error that accompanies this model series. Unfortunately, I didn't find out until it hit me too (practically right out of the box). The problem is traceable on the internet, the solution is not.
Some speculate about a weak battery, but my battery is, I think, fine because (a weaker load of around 60 watts will hold higher for tens of minutes). The built-in RT1270 battery is sized sufficiently, with a max. the permitted consumption of 70 A for 5 seconds, which at 12 V is over 700 W and this must be enough to start up even more demanding devices around 400 W.
However, the UPS sent to me is not able to serve devices with a power consumption below 180 W (I have a professional wattmeter). Neither to start from the battery, nor to hold during a mains power failure - both end with error E21, which is confusingly called "Short circuit on output", which is, of course, nonsense.
(The same setup kept a 300 W Belkin inverter on a similar 12V/7Ah battery running for over 10 minutes. )
This appears to be a design flaw in the device, I do not recommend the purchase.

The information on the display on the front is nicely visible, it doesn't buzz or hum, the design is pleasing. The X-box, TV and Hifi-tower will hold after a power cut for approx. 8 min. in operation. But that was just for a test, I bought the UPS in a rack to keep the switch, network drive/NAS, Wifi-router and NVR (camera system) in operation during a power outage (often only for 1-2 seconds). These few appliances will keep the UPS alive longer than actually needed (estimated more than 25-30 min. ). What I expected, I got for my money. All OK.
I can't think of any explicit disadvantages, it's just that the UPS can get pretty hot, so (in my case) placing it in a rack may or may not be problematic in terms of operating temperatures.
