Although De Dietrich was my dream product, I ended up returning the hob. Two things bothered me:
1) Complicated controls; you first have to select the zone and then keep tapping the plus button all the way up to level 19. Yes, this hob has 19 levels. There are a few shortcuts, but after cooking a few times, it got on my nerves. You feel like a DJ in Ibiza, constantly tapping something. When I compare it to an Electrolux, which has a slider for each ring and I can get the desired level with one tap, I just couldn't get over it. 2) And the second, more serious problem is the size for pots and pans. Because of the front panel, which stretches across the entire front, the hob loses valuable space. The rings are also strangely offset, so fitting 2 pans and 2 pots on there was a superhuman feat, and mind you, the hob has 5 rings. Simply put, what fitted on the Electrolux didn't fit on here, not by a long shot. Otherwise, you can tell the hob is high quality; it's twice as heavy as the Elux and looks more robust, but the user experience just kills it all. A shame, really.
