The carpet is apparently cut from the yardage carpet along its length. What has happened is that some of the buildings and roads on that piece of carpet have been repeated, and some of the buildings have not been reached. The police station was the one missing from ours, and it was the most important one in the whole carpet for my grandson. I had assumed that this fact was quite obvious and piece carpets are cut from the yardage along its width.
