It fulfils its purpose very well - i.e. studio subwoofer for close listening.

It's not a subwoofer for loud reproduction. But for studio listening. It was disappointing at first, but it accomplishes what it was intended to do.
Still, I would have liked a bit more bass. but as I wrote, it's for close listening, not to crack the windows in your apartment.
