First off, I should say that I'm used to Dell and laptop keyboards. My previous keyboard was also low-profile. On the other hand, its lifespan wasn't as long as I would have liked. But now, onto this one. The sound isn't bad, although it's slightly louder. It makes more noise when you release a key. I find the light around the keys a bit distracting, as it's brighter than the backlit symbols. However, I think that's just a matter of getting used to it. One more thing – I plugged the keyboard into the PC while it was in sleep mode and it had issues. I had to wake the PC up, log in, and only then connect the new keyboard. I don't intend to return the keyboard, but I'll probably look for another one anyway.
The sound of the keys

Key backlighting
USB cable
keyboard brightness settings
the FN key is on the opposite side to what is standard (my mistake, I could have noticed)
backlight button (on/off) at the bottom of the keyboard
high key travel, it feels unnatural (it is listed in the low-profile category)
function keys (I commonly use the volume but have to press "FN" for that, I'm used to the opposite logic)

I switched after 3 years from a really low profile one to this one (bought at a good price with a discount "on trial") so I'm getting used to it for now.
Looks good quality, keys go OK
It's not exactly low profile, it's kind of in between classic and low profile

Perfectly adequate.
As is usual with Alza, my keyboard arrived unpacked/used instead of new.
