I like the camera. High resolution, solid dynamic range, perfect night-time illumination. I’ve got it in my large garage and, as far as the picture is concerned, I’ve got no complaints. Even at night, in IR mode, I can see absolutely everything. On days when it’s relatively dark in the garage compared to outside, the camera manages to capture both – the light and dark areas – quite well. Sure, it’s no match for a phone and it has its limitations, but even so, I was pleasantly surprised compared to the older (outdoor) EZVIZ cameras I have at home. People tracking works well too – when enabled, the camera can track people’s movements by panning mechanically. What really bothers me, though, is the fact that you can’t connect the camera to a different Wi-Fi network without resetting it to its factory settings. I know it probably doesn’t bother anyone, but this sort of thoughtlessness really gets on my nerves. With my previous EZVIZ cameras, all I had to do was set up a hotspot using the original SSID and password, connect my mobile and the camera to it, then set up the new Wi-Fi, and that was it. Well, with this camera, the only way (! ) is to reset the camera to its factory settings. That means finding a ladder, climbing up to the camera, finding that bloody button which you have to press with superhuman strength and hold down for ages. It’s as if someone had accidentally squashed it at some point. I’d strangle the Chinese bloke who came up with this. After a reset, you will lose all your settings. What’s more, without me realising it, after the reset it switched on that bloody cloud of theirs, so all my measurements were immediately uploaded to God knows where. What’s more, you can’t switch it off and delete it with a single button. No, no, you have to make a conscious effort to get rid of it. I’ll never understand this. Whilst China has left the rest of the world far behind in hardware production, the software there is probably written by Indians. I can’t think of any other way to explain it.
