The watch is great, it shows the location and you can make/receive calls on it. Unfortunately, there are sometimes blind spots where there's no signal. Before buying, be prepared that you have to pay 259 Kč monthly or 2590 Kč annually for the watch to connect to the operator's LTE network.
you can make calls with them
shows the location
You can only call the watch from the app, no one else can get through.
Sometimes there are dead spots around blocks of flats where the signal doesn't reach, and you can't update the location or make a call.
We were thrilled with the size of the case, finally a kids watch with a reasonable size against all competitors, the breakage however came when searching for a signal, we live in an area with available GSM 5G coverage but the watch kept searching for a signal and couldn't make calls or communicate location. The Gamin hotline did not know which operator the watch was connected to. The second problem is the battery, in the evening I charge the device to 100%, take it off the charger and by morning it loses 40% of the battery! A watch lying on a table overnight, connected to the home wifi, without any activity and losing 40% of the battery, it's really hard to use. Too bad, with Garmin I don't mind the higher price, but the usability is unfortunately poor in this case.
The watch is great for my 8 year old son, he collects pennies for completing homework, he has started a trip to France so encourages the child to sport a great watch. I read the review that the watch only came in English but if you pair the watch with the app and update the watch you get the honesty into the watch
collecting money for completing a task
school regime
you will receive a message (if you set a threshold) when your child arrives at school
for me a great watch
live track
sometimes the call doesn't go through or you can't send a message
In terms of workmanship, battery and size, the product looked very promising, almost unrivalled in the children's watch market, but the LTE-M signal makes it a non-functional product.
I had to return the product. LTE-M is unusable in Prague. No signal inside my flat or at school, and minimal signal around the buildings too. In 90% of cases, I couldn't make a call, messages didn't arrive, and the watch only got a signal in a park where there were no buildings.
Garmin support couldn't do anything about it. They don't have any tools for influencing or diagnosing it.
When I was cancelling the paid connection to their LTE-M network, I had to call support in England. They were very helpful there and sorted out the cancellation, but in the Czech Republic, I felt like I'd called a washing machine repair service. They had no clue what to do or even what product it was about.
After registering in the Garmin app, selecting from 2 pausals (monthly/yearly - after entering the card, Garmin charges the amount itself), calling/texting works great. Watch bought only for phone calls/texts when the child is without a mobile phone. To call the watch, the caller must have the Garmin app.
dimensions as for a watch without telephone
it's not on e-sim, but that's not a problem, LTE-M works perfectly
