I chose this over the touch-screen 620 due to better value. The features on the 230 are very adequate: activities, steps, notifications, HRM, sleep monitoring, widgets and data pairing with Garmin Connect App & MyFitnessPal. Updates via Garmin Express. Register with the Garmin forum to share experiences. Very satisfied as a solid performer for my running, indoor biking, steps and sms/email/media notifications.
Can freeze the odd time, showing wrong date or time. When this happens, do a hard reset (press on/off button for 20 seconds to turn off) as it is charging in the USB. Always set 'Time' to 'manual', set it, then initiate GPS ('normal' not with Glonass) outdoors (like a run) to sync-correct date again.
