I needed a cheap antenna. This product has exactly exceeded expectations. I was a little worried because of the low price, but everything worked out fine.

Transmitter in direct line of sight, through 3 thick brick walls. I just put the antenna on the shelf and everything worked. It didn't even need to be turned towards the transmitter, it's turned sideways to it and still works perfectly, 38 programs tuned.

The amplifier is not switched off together with the TV, but it can be powered from USB if the TV is there, so perhaps it would not consume electricity, but untested.
